| Dear
Parents:
I am very excited to have your
child in my French class this year. Grade 8 is an exciting time.
I have put together a list of various expectations that will help your
child have a successful year in French.
French Notebook:
Students must have a notebook
or duotang for their
day-to-day work. Notebooks
should be neat, tidy and
well organized. Each page
must have a title and date.
Hand-outs should be neatly placed
in notebooks.
Homework:
All homework should be neatly
and completely done
at home. If a student
is unable to complete homework
they must see me in the morning
with a written letter
explaining why their homework
is incomplete.
Absence:
Students are responsible for
work missed
because of being absent.
It is the responsibility
of each student to speak to
me directly or a classmate
to see what work has been missed.
Students may also
look up their homework on this
web page.
Textbook:
French books will remain in
class.
Each student will have
a workbook.
Work done in the workbook should
be neat and complete.
If a workbook is lost the student
will have to pay
five dollars for a new workbook.
Projects:
To get a good grade on a project,
students should
make sure:
a) work is neat, well organized
and complete;
b) all projects have a
title page;
c) the entire project is clean
and free of torn pages;
d) projects have a first and
last name on the title page;
e) projects are handed in on
time or marks
will be deducted.
Tests:
If a student is caught cheating
or talking during a
test they will lose their test.
Behavior:
Good behavior will play a large
part in determining
success in French class.
All students will be
expected to :
a) be courteous to both the
teacher and
fellow classmates;
b) listen during instruction;
c) keep rude language out of
the class.
All projects and tests will be sent home to be
signed.
In addition to report cards and conferences,
I will always
be available to meet or speak with you.
Parents may call
me at school or send me an e-mail. In return,
I will contact parents by
letter, telephone or e-mail.
